JaneJaney are set and costume designers and installation artists - a collaboration of Janey Gardiner and Jane Wheeler. They transform spaces and performers for theatre, dance, opera, festivals and events. Their portfolio is diverse and unconventional reflecting their desire to work across genres on innovative, ambitious work. They thrive on collaboration and are always delighted to be approached by other artists. They love what they do, have exceptionally high standards, throw everything into every project and laugh a lot in the process.

Past collaborations include the Royal Opera House, Chichester Festival Theatre, Secret Cinema, Brighton Festival, Bath International Music Festival, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Latitude Festival and New Movement Collective.

JANEY GARDINER

Janey is a highly experienced set and costume designer who has worked extensively in theatre, opera and contemporary dance for over twenty years.

She has designed set and costumes for the Linbury Studio at The Royal Opera House, Riverside Studios and Contact Theatre Manchester to name a few. She has a wealth of knowledge on the history of costume and runs the Costume Design and Construction course at Northbrook College, West Sussex.  She is also a trained prop maker and has taught set, costume and props at all of the major art/design colleges including Wimbledon and Central St Martins.

JANE WHEELER

Janewheeler

Jane is a set and costume designer/installation artist with a background in arts management and fine art. She managed a gallery for many years, as well as organised and produced art exhibitions all around the country.

She is a trained set designer and scenic artist and has painted for Glyndebourne, the National Theatre, the Almeida and the Tricycle. She brings a fine art eye to set and costume design particularly enjoying immersive and installation work.
